Pain Between Shoulder Blades

Find Relief at Herndon's Pain Therapy Clinic

Pain between the shoulder blades and upper back pain can have the same causes that you will find with shoulder and neck pain. The pain you are experiencing may eventually travel up to you neck, maybe causing tingling in you hand and finger, or you may find it difficult to even take a deep breath.

The pain between your shoulder blades is most likely from:

Sleeping on your side

Poor posture at your computer, a non ergonomic work station, a mouse that is too far forward on your desk (which will result in right upper back pain)

Carrying heavy purse or computer bag

Improper lifting of heavy objects or children

In Bowenwork, for upper back pain and pain between the shoulders, we have a wonderful and effective protocol that addresses the muscles between the shoulder blades (rhomboids), upper shoulder and neck muscles (levtator scapulae), and the latissimus dorsi muscles. The Bowen "moves" over these muscles are often combined with other Bowen protocols that will have a profound effect on relieving the pain between the shoulder blades. Work on the chest and the front of the neck are vital in balancing the muscles in the upper body and allowing the body to heal and eliminate the pain.

Shoulder and neck stretches are also an important part of the healing process.
